We are a three piece band based out of Vancouver, B.C. that has been together since February of 2000. We were three guys tired of playing the same schlock rock every night. Then, one day, Shayne just blurts outs out "Hey! How about some FUNK!?!" and Avocado Shag was born.
Although we don't limit ourselves to funk totally, we do strive to offer something different, yet recognizable. Along with our slightly skewed sense of humor, we offer a variety of tunes from the early 70s through the new millennium. With a touch of ska, Some classics from the 80s, and a few tunes that should not be attempted by non-professionals, we'll keep the dance floor full from the beginning to the end of the night. Whatever your occasion, be it a party, pub, club, wedding, special event, fundraiser, etc., we promise we'll do our best to make it the coolest event ever! We put the FUN in FUNky! (well, somebody had to say it.)
