We’ve had three days in a row where the rains have subsided. It’s cold, but the last few motorcycle stragglers are taking advantage of what are the last few rides of the season. This time of year, the time it takes to put on the gear quickly negates the time I save in travel with the HOV lane and other motorcycle shortcuts, but hey, it’s riding.
This morning I had a bit of an adventure. Once I hit the HOV lane and was able to speed up, I felt my helmet was lighter than usual. That’s odd, I thought. I didn’t think too much of it. I was sure I clicked it good. Then it started to lift. Holy crap! I’m gonna lose it! I squeezed my chin down just in time to catch the strap as my helmet flew off.
It must have been quite a sight. Here I was, flying down the road, all dressed in black from chin to toe, my little pink bald head sticking up above it all, an my helmet dangling down my back.
I figure I clicked it sideways, with only two of the three prongs in the clip.
….never a dull moment when cycling.
